Pop Up Blocker Software
This document explains why:
A blank screen appears after you login to IRESis
The Report Window will not display
You cannot access the Realist site, our Public Records provider
You receive an "Invalid Page Default" error.
You see this troubleshooting screen after going to www.iresis.com:

This behavior is caused by PopUp Blockers, software that stops popup ads from opening when you are on the internet. This software interferes with IRESis, and other software programs, as it does not allow new windows to be opened. Popup blockers can be included in Toolbars, Firewalls, Internet Explorer, and even in the background where you cannot see them.
First, attempt to configure your PopUp Blocker so you can still use it when accessing IRESis. To do so, you must enter our web site address as a 'trusted site' in your PopUp Blocker. We suggest you open the software and look under "Options" or "Configure", etc., or click on the Toolbar button that allows popups as shown with the Google toolbar below:

For IRESis enter the address: www.iresis.com and for Realist enter: http://realist2.firstamres.com. Or, if that is not an option, disable the software while using IRESis.
Tips on how to configure or disable popup blockers:
If a PopUp Blocker is running on your system, you might be able to find it by mousing over the icons on the bottom, right corner of your PC. These icons represent some of the applications that are running on your computer. If you find the Blocker, either open and configure it or disable it.
Some versions of AOL and Earthlink have PopUp blockers built into their web sites. If you use either of these ISP's, please contact them for instructions on how to allow popups on trusted sites or how to disable the blocker while using IRESis.
Web sites such as Yahoo, Comcast, and Google (as shown above) have created "Toolbars" that include additional options, one of which is PopUp Blockers. If you have downloaded such a toolbar, either enter IRESis and Realist as trusted sites or disable them while using IRESis.
If
you have a Personal
Firewall or Internet
Security software, open the software and look for an option that
stops Popup Ads. Once you find the setting, click
"Options" or "Configure", "Allow Trusted Sites",
etc. In the 2006 & 2008 version of Norton Internet
Security you will find the Popup and Ad blocker in the "Privacy Control"
section (click the "Advanced" button to configure both). Enter
the web site names above as sites that can be allowed to open popup windows
or turn off the PopUp Blocker option. If you have
difficulty finding the option, contact the manufacturer. For
more information about personal firewalls, read the document Firewalls
and IRESis.
Note: If you have recently renewed your subscription to this
type of software, sometimes they automatically change your settings back
to the default and you may need to unselect the popup blocker again.
Some web sites automatically download a temporary popup blocker to your computer to stop ads from appearing when you are viewing their site. They generally disappear after a certain number of hours (24-48), but we are unsure as to the exact time. It is not guaranteed that this will remove the blocker, but we do suggest you run a Spyware Removal tool. You may search the internet for the spyware removal of your choice, or we suggest the free Spybot - Search & Destroy, which was highly recommended by PC Magazine. Click here to visit their web site (http://download.com./3000-8022-10122137.html) now. For more information about Spyware, click here.
Configure
the Internet Explorer
PopUp Blocker (for Windows XP SP 2 & Vista users only):
When you enter www.iresis.com
with the Internet Explorer PopUp Blocker on, you will see the message
below, advising that Internet Explorer just blocked a popup window.
Click OK to close the dialog box.
The Information Bar itself is directly above the web page and states, ”Pop-up blocked. To see this pop-up or additional options click here&ldots;”

To see the blocked window, click on the Information Bar. The options below will appear:

Click ”Always Allow Pop-ups from This Site&ldots;” The window below will appear:

Click ”Yes”.
If you cannot locate the popup blocker on your computer in order to disable or configure it, try the steps below to work around it:
On the IRESis Login screen, enter your User Name and Password.
Press the Ctrl key on your keyboard.
Click the IRESis Login button while the Ctrl key is still being held down. For some popup blockers, this will stop the popup block and you might be able to access IRESis. Until you find the blocker and either configure or disable it, you will need to press the Ctrl key every time you login to IRESis.
Otherwise, we suggest you disable your ”add-ons” or ”extensions” in Internet Explorer. This may cause you to lose the ability to use certain toolbars or buttons you have downloaded, however, if you cannot find the popup blocker you will not be able to access IRESis:
Open Internet Explorer.
Click on the 'Tools' button.
Click on 'Internet Options'.
Click on the 'Advanced' tab.
In the 'Browsing' section, UNselect the option "Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart)".
Click the 'Apply' button.
Reboot your computer and try again
To eliminate popup advertisements from appearing:
If you must turn off your PopUp Blocker we realize this will allow popup ads to appear while you are using IRESis. We suggest these steps to eliminate them:
Clear your cookies and temporary internet files by following the instructions in Clear Temporary and History Internet Files.
Determine if 'spyware' or 'adware' has been downloaded on your computer. This is software that gathers information about your internet use without your knowledge, usually for advertising purposes. Once installed, spyware monitors your activity on the Internet and transmits that information in the background to the creator of the spyware. Spyware can also gather information about e-mail addresses and even passwords and credit card numbers.
Go to www.google.com and search for "Spyware Removal" to find software that you can either download for free or purchase to remove spyware from your computer. We suggest Ad-Aware by Lavasoft (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware) or Spybot Search & Destroy (http://download.com./3000-8022-10122137.html).
